Hi, My name is
Jeff "HOTFOOT" Hooker.
First, I want to thank you for checking out my website. I would not
be where I am today without all of the support from my family,
friends and fans.
I would like to share a little history with you about how my racing
career started. The first time I drove a race car was in 1989 to
fill in for one of my brothers. It only took a couple of races and I
was "hooked". I started racing full time in Rugby, ND in
1991. The class of cars that I raced was called Dakota Street
Stocks. Let me tell you - money was tight in the early years, but I
managed.
In
1995 Wissota Street Stocks and Modifieds were added to the race
program in Rugby. I got into the Wissota Street class and things
started to click. I won the opening night feature and several more
throughout the season in Rugby and also won the only night I ran in
Jamestown, ND.
Also
in 1995 I met my future wife, Cim Berg. I left Rugby and moved to
Minot where I took a managers position at Midwest Auto Glass (where
I'm still happily employed). In 1996, I resumed my racing career at
the Nodak Speedway in the Wissota Street class.
In
1997 my daughter, Taylor Paige, was born. She now refers to herself
as "Little Hotfoot" Hooker or "Little foot" for
short. I enjoy taking her to races and she enjoys being in the pits
with daddy. I also moved up to the IMCA Modified class that year and
took home "Rookie of the Year" honors.
In
2000 I won my first IMCA Modified feature at the season finale in
Estevan, Sask.
2001
- 2003 were passed with at least one feature win per season. In
2004, I was able to run at several tracks with many 2nd place
finishes but no wins.
In
2005 I won my first track championship at the Geographical Center
Speedway in Rugby. We also finished 4th in season points at the
Nodak Speedway. Also, my second child, Blake Jett was born. He is an
absolute whirlwind and keeps his parents very busy.
In
2006 we shook down a new car and picked up a feature win and a
runner-up points finish at the Geographical Center Speedway in
Rugby. Also, we struggled to find consistency and luck in Minot and
dropped to a 9th place points finish at the Nodak Speedway.
We
started 2007 in a new car again. We quickly got this car dialed in
and ended the year with another win and another runner-up finish in
points at the Geographical Center Speedway in Rugby. We also were
much more competitive at Nodak and finished the year 5th in points.
2008 brings the 2nd year with this car and we hope to build off the
strong runs we had late in the year in 2007 to contend for more wins
and ultimately championships.
Now
fans, START YOUR ENGINES! See you at the track in 2008.
